UKCompaniesData.uk uses the official Companies House Free Company Data Product. The initial dataset is the August 2026 snapshot (2026-08).

What the snapshot contains

Each monthly file is a snapshot of companies live on the Companies House register at that point in time. It is not limited to companies incorporated during that month. Incorporation dates always come from the company record in the source file.

Update schedule

Companies House publishes a new bulk snapshot within five working days of the previous month end. Future imports can be run with:

npm run import:companies -- --snapshot=2026-09

Calculated metrics

Some values shown on the site are calculated from source fields and are labelled as such. Examples include company age, active company counts, percentages by company type, and location or industry breakdowns.

We do not describe monthly growth or historical change until multiple monthly snapshots have been imported.

Historical change tracking requires multiple monthly snapshots. This feature will become available after additional Companies House datasets are imported.

Limitations

Data reflects the imported snapshot date, not live register status.
SIC descriptions come from the controlled UK SIC 2007 mapping table and Companies House source fields.
Location and postcode pages are only published where the dataset contains enough companies to provide meaningful coverage.
The site focuses on company and business register information, not private individuals.
